OpenStudy (vane11):

f(x) = −(1/7)x + 1 Find the area of the region under the graph of the function f on the interval [1, 7], using the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Then verify your result using geometry. I was under the impression I just had to fill in the x for 7 and subtract that from the same expression but with a 1 in place of the x but I'm not getting the correct answer, what am I supposed to do?

OpenStudy (vane11):

Ah nvm I caught something in the videos I'm going to try once more :)

OpenStudy (vane11):

well im supposed to find the interval function and then do what i was doing apparently... or am i being taught the hard wayy??

OpenStudy (vane11):

integral my bad

OpenStudy (vane11):

I'll just close this and repost if I have too haha

OpenStudy (vane11):

yup :) and subtract one from the other

OpenStudy (vane11):

it's x-x^2/14 right??
