MEDALS + FANS PLEASE HELP!!
Hannah was hired by a satellite TV company to take a survey. She asked each of the people who live on her street how many TVs were in their homes. This is a list of her survey results. Which measure of central tendency is the most appropriate for her to report to the company? Why? Number of Televisions: 0 4 1 3 4 2 1 0 2 3
@IMStuck
I would say the mean here would be the best measure of central tendency. Usually it is, unless there is an outlier one way or the other, and here there is no outlier. So use the mean. It will give the best average for the number of TVs. Plus, who cares what the median is when you are trying to find the number of TVs on average in homes?!
Do I have to solve it?
It doesn't say in the problem to find the mean, only to state the best measure of central tendency and why. I answered both of those for you in my reply above, but just for the record, the mean would be 2.
Can you help me with a few more?
