Describe, in your own words, why granulated sugar will dissolve faster in a cup of coffee than sugar cubes. Be specific in your explanation.
@Abhisar
i have been one this question for the longest time. this is what i have so far... Granulated sugar will dissolve faster in a cup rather than a cup of coffee than sugar cube. This because a granulated sugar covers a larger surface area than the sugar cubes. In a sugar cube the sugar molecules inside of the cube is not able to dissolve until they are exposed to water. what should i add?
actually the question is asking why granulated sugar dissolves faster than sugar cubes.
The reason is due to greater surface area. When sugar cubes are granulated then the surface area in contact with solvent (coffee in this case) increases and thus rate of dissolution also increases.
soo i was pretty close!
