Does anyone know how to improvise good jazz solos on the fly?

Start by learning some jazz songs with sheet music and really get the feel of the instrument you are playing and from there just practice practice practice doing jazz without music (listening to a lot of jazz also helps) and soon enough you'll be able to do jazz on the fly.

I'm a swing dancer/Lindy hopper and I play the piano and I started by learning songs like A Paper Moon, Great Balls of Fire, When I Fall in Love, I got Rhythm, All That Jazz, ect.
