OpenStudy (shendadenise94):

What is the role of a facilitator in a group discussion? to keep track of the time allotted for discussion to record key points of the conversation to guide the discussion and mediate disputes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let's look at the definition of facilitator: "a facilitator is someone who helps a group of people understand their common objectives and assists them to plan to achieve them without taking a particular position in the discussion." so, i'd say the best answer is the third one, just because it implies the facilitator isn't taking any sides. but they're still playing a role in the discussion by assisting everyone else. it's closest to the definition of a facilitator.
