The book is called The Great Tree Of  Avalon and for the first assignment I have to write a professional letter about the characters

Well, since you have not read the book, I suggest you try to get as much information from wiki as you can. Try to better understand the plot and setting of the story, along with all the characters. Once you have that covered, all you have to do is write a paper describing the story's main characters. I have attached the link for the wiki on this story below! Hope this helps!
