Write the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the line y = 2x + 2 and passes through the point (6, 3). y = 2x + 6 y = -one halfx + 3 y = -one halfx + 6 y = 2x + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the third one y=-1/2x + 6

we dont give out answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok im kinda new and i see people just giving answers my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if u want to get the perpendicular slope, you need to get the reciprocal of the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example the reciprocal of 5 is -1/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you plug in the values of x and y into the new equation and the answer that makes one side equal to the other side is correct
