your equation can be written as (27a^-3)^-2/3 27^-2/3 * (a^-3)^-2/3 = ( (3^3)^-2/3) * (a^(-3*-2/3) ) = 3^-2 * a^2 = a^2/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(27 a^-3)^(-2/3) First, multiply in the exponential power = \[27 ^{-2/3} *( a ^{-3})^{-2/3}\] <--- Remember to multiply powers with powers on a^-3. =\[\frac{ 1 }{ 9 } * a ^{\frac{ 6 }{ 3 }}\] = \[\frac{ a ^{2} }{ 9 }\]
