Taking just the plain function, \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x| }\) Some shifts of it: \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x+b| ~~~~~~~~~~~\rm{b~~~units ~~~left}}\) \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x-b| ~~~~~~~~~~~\rm{b~~~units ~~~right}}\) \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x|+c ~~~~~~~~~~~\rm{c~~~units ~~~up}}\) \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x|-c ~~~~~~~~~~~\rm{c~~~units ~~~down}}\) For example, \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ y=|x+f|-r ~~~~~~~~~~~\rm{f~~~units~~~left~~~and~~~r~~~units ~~~down}}\)

well, you are adding +5 inside the absolute value, and -1 outside of the absolute value. There are 2 shifts, can you determine what they are ?
