The archway of the main entrance of a university is modeled by the quadratic equation y = -x2 + 6x. The university is hanging a banner at the main entrance at an angle defined by the equation 4y = 21 − x. At what points should the banner be attached to the archway? confusing ?....

OpenStudy (aum):

Find the points of intersection of the two equations. y = -x^2 + 6x 4y = 21 − x or y = 1/4 * (21-x) Solve -x^2 + 6x = 1/4 * (21-x) You will get two x values. Put each in the second equation and calculate y values. Express the answer as two points: (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)
