see it...1st make this eq in simplified form that add or subtract the same termss..on both sides... retricefollows..

(42-7)r2-69r+20+8 =35r2-69r+28 now use quadratic formula to find r. quadratic formula is.. \[r=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{ 2a }\] here in your case... a=35 b=69 c=28 just plug in values and get result...
