There is a positive correlation between the number of times the Striped Ground Cricket chirps per second and the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. If a scatter plot is made with the number of chirps on the horizontal axis and the trend line is found to be y = 3x + 25, then what would you predict the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit to be when there are 20 chirps per second?

help plzzz

OpenStudy (imstuck):

y = 3(20)+25 would be your solution. 85 degrees is predicted to be the temperature if the crickets are chirping at 20 chirps per second.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Your problem tells you that x is the number of chirps. So they ask you what the temp will be at 20 chirps per second...so fill in 20 for x and you're good to go!

whare is x at in the equashon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 85 right

OpenStudy (imstuck):

with the number of chirps on the horizontal axis That is from your problem. The horizontal axis is the x axis.
