Please help.. Write an equation for the line in point slope form through the points (2, –6) and (–1, –8).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the slope you must use this y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

points (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Please do not use "y2 - y1 / x2 - x1" for the slope. That is incorrect. Use "(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)". The parentheses are NOT optional.
