ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
try to draw a triangle around the pond without touching the pond ?
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
0,8 0,0 and 4,7 ?
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
@ganeshie8
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
can u draw it and show me ?
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
um sure

how ? lol
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
ur choice of points give below fence :
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
i would have to open it up more then... 0,9 and 0, - 1 ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
notice that some part of the pond is going out of the fence on right hand side, so it is a FAIL. may be pick some other point for (0,8) ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
i like (0,0) point though as it simplifies the calculations when u find distances for perimeter

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
ok
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
how do i find the perimeter ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
try this new fence :
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
perimeter = length around the shape
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
just find all the 3 side lengths of the triangle
add them

using the distance formula ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
yes!
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
ok ... im going to solve it now
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
22.06 ?
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
9 + 4.12 + 8.94 ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
how did u get 4.12 ?
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
sqrt(4 - 0)^2 + (8-9)^2 = sqrt(17) = 4.12
OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
(0,9) and (4,8)
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
its (9, 0)
NOT (0, 9)
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
(9, 0) is on x axis...

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
my bad xc let me try again
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
the points are :
(0, 0)
(9, 0)
(4, 8)
calculate the distances gain :)
