v = -4t - 2

plug your points that are in the table, into the equation and see if it is true

t = -2 and v = 6
now sub
6 = -4(-2) - 2
6 = 8 - 2
6 = 6 (correct)

t = -1 and v = 2
now sub
2 = -4(-1) - 2
2 = 4 - 2
2 = 2 (correct)

t = 0 and v = -2
now sub
-2 = -4(0) - 2
-2 = -2 (correct)

as you can see, when subbing in your points into the equation, they all come out true.
