okay sulfur is the oxidizing agent because if we have a look at its electronic configuration and compare it with the carbon its easier for sulfur to gain electrons(reduced) S: 2,8,6 C: 2,4

oh.... huh I just thought you had to look on either side of the equation and see what elements were less and which were the same
