what is difference b/w chemotherapeutic agents and antibodies?

Miracrown (miracrown):

this should help: http://www.chemocare.com/chemotherapy/what-is-chemotherapy/default.aspx#.U9IkCtIW09Y after reading the above link^ , if you still have doubts just kindly ask. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hy ! thnks i got it :)

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

Chemotherapy is "the treatment of disease by the use of chemical substances, especially the treatment of cancer by cytotoxic and other drugs." an antibody is a blood protein produced in response to and counteracting a specific antigen. they combine chemically with substances which the body recognises as 'alien', such as bacteria, viruses, and foreign substances in the blood, like if someone decided to lodge a metal pole into you.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

cool-cool?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thts ryt .... but tel me differnce b/w compositsion of chemotherapeutic agents and anibodies...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just read that... chemotherapeutic agents are chemical synthetic and they are not obtaines from organisms.. but antibodies are taken from organims or it synthesized artificialy they are derived from organisms

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

hmm

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

is that a conjecture or a veracity?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

@Abhisar

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

he knows this stuff wayyyyyyyyy better than me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

conjecture / veracity :/ it was written by me in my book ...i think i wrote it an year ago ... may b my teacher told me .. em confused

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

http://www.abcam.com/index.html?pageconfig=resource&rid=11258&pid=10996 thats what i have been reading about the structure of antibodies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thts nyc of u ...

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

niceties are not a proclivity of mine, i think you'll find i'm a very apathetic person as a result of my term in the army.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ! wel it felt it nyc so i said.. wel thnks

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

lol, i think you will also find that i am just as confused as you are at this question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

helo @Abhisar ! can u help me out in this problem

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

Ab deffers agrees that I am apathetic :)

OpenStudy (abhisar):

In simple terms, antibodies are the `protein molecules your body (B-Lymphocytes) make against the foreign antigens.` Chemotherapeutic agents are any `chemical agents which is used for therapeutic purpose.` It may or `may not be organism derived.` For example drugs like `paracetamol, nimusulide`are synthetic while antibiotics like `penicillin` is organism derived.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats helpfu :) thank u @Abhisar
