help please can some one tell me how America over reacted to Pearl Harbor by dropping an atomic bomb

umm personally i dont think they over reacted...japan declared war on us first by bombing pearl harbor, first off we were not fighting against japan and second they bombed peal harbor knowing that it wasn't really a place that was ready for war, in fact when family's of soldiers would find out they were going to pearl harbor they were happy because it wasn't a place of war.

and yes innocent bystanders got hurt in japan over the bombing but thats just part of war and if we would not have done it the war would have went on longer bringing
 more americans to there death
