There you go.  It doesn't make any difference,  Lets do the math
Multiply the first equation by 3 getting:  9x + 3y = 9
Now add the 2nd equatiojn:            +      x   -3y  =-2
                                                             --------------
                                                              10x         =7    Now to solve
