Any ideas on how to deal with writers block?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I usually end up reading something. A novel, short story, poem. Poems are great for helping with story ideas, and stories are good for poem inspiration. Or I think about different types of conflicts and life lessons I've learnt in childrens' stories, then implement them into my stories.

What do you need to write?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks I was just trying to write a short story for class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, then do you have a plot or something specific to go by? Or is it freestyle writing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's Freestyle writing I hate those because I never know what to write or I get stuck after three sentences.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ugh, I know. I usually end up roaming idea sites. So there was absolutely no plot or main sentence to start off with? Or a central idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually did start writing I've got a few ideas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, if you want, you can bounce them off me and I'll see if I can help you get a main idea. Is there anything you need help with? Like editing or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A good technique is to write. Yes, you heard it. You write. You forget about the writing being "perfect." Allow yourself to even write "garbage." Don't be discouraged. The time is now. Action. Happy writing.

Unless you are already a writer, there is a good chance you do not have writer's block. At any rate, the traditional therapy is to type the word "The," then a word to go after that. Repeat adding a word after that as necessary.
