2 is a zero of x^3-8x^2+25x-26 Find the remaining zeros. I used synthetic division to find x^2-6x+13, but I am unsure what to do from there

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

well since 2 is zero then x-2 is a factor of it , right ? then use long division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is what I did, but would the zeros be 6, -13?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

wait lemme check

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

well x^3-8x^2+25x-26 = (x+2) ( x^2-6x+13 ) that sounds like complex solution :O

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

use the general formula for quadratic equation and set i instead of sqrt -1

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

could u do that and solve ( x^2-6x+13 )?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

a=1 b=-6 c=13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my answers are, (other than 2), 1, -6, 13?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

mmm the answer showld be complex roots

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

:O
