OpenStudy (anonymous):

im doing flvs, iv done none stop work all day today i actually did 38 assignments because everything has to be turned in by sunday :p but should i do this or the Kennedy-Nixon Debate which do you think is easier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well actually it has to be turned in Saturday (tomorrow at 10pm)

OpenStudy (pi123):

wow nice job!! :) i understand too ive been doing none stop work for flvs. but i finished that class cuz i took it a while ago. i would reccomend just doing this one because it looks alot easier and there wouldnt be as much to go into detail about rather than with the kennedy-Nixon one. get rest after! here if you need any help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, and ohh wow thats always fun! i think im gonna do that one last but im having trouble with one...

OpenStudy (pi123):

which one? ill help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since i failed english i got everything taken from me and my parents are out of town at work so idk what to do

OpenStudy (pi123):

for this assignment all you do is type up your argument and then i would reccomend instead of making a video just reading it to a parent or sibling and just have them fillout the audience rubric. or in all honesty you could just fill it out yourself. then after you do that you submit your audience rubric along with your typed up argument.

OpenStudy (pi123):

aww, i completely understand! it was the same for me expect it was algebra. well dont worry your not alone im here to help :)

OpenStudy (pi123):

omg you get me lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i type up any argument or do i have a certain one? and omg lol twinsies

OpenStudy (pi123):

you have a certain argument i forget which one it is hold on one sec let me read it again

OpenStudy (pi123):

it says that you have to submit a multimedia aid for this assignment but i never did and i didnt get any points taken away. i had a cool teacher tho Mrs. Ingle. anyways this is the module where it tells you to choose between the sports thingy debate and the books being banned debate right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on i have to look

OpenStudy (pi123):

alright :) ill be here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly dont know it doesn't tell me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What does this mean?? Congratulations! Your preparations for your presentation to the special committee are off to a great start. You’ve taken your outline to the next level by using it to draft an engaging argument. Submit your draft with parenthetical citations and keying.

OpenStudy (pi123):

sorry i just noticed you replied back. well when i did this module it was for the sports thingy debate (on whether college players should get paid for playing or not) or the books being banned debate. You had to choose between the two and write and argument about it to present to a "commitee". That means that you have to redo your submission but with citations this time. Do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really

OpenStudy (pi123):

alright um which assignment is this for? I vaguely remember doing this one. Let me see if i can help. Your in module 6 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm this >>>>>> Congratulations! Your preparations for your presentation to the special committee are off to a great start. You’ve taken your outline to the next level by using it to draft an engaging argument. Submit your draft with parenthetical citations and keying. (thats 05.09)

OpenStudy (pi123):

ok give me one sec!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay i just finished 06.07 so 4 more assignments

OpenStudy (pi123):

thats awesome! :) ok so i forgot what parenthetical citations were and i looked it up, this is the link http://content.easybib.com/citation-guides/mla-format/how-to-cite-a-parenthetical-citations-mla/#.U9MuirHG-D4

OpenStudy (pi123):

i hope that helped! i just dont remember completely what the work was for module 5. was it the ones with the two poems? if i can just remmeber that i can help you lots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

module 5?

OpenStudy (pi123):

are you still stuck on it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but im also working on something else or well trying to work i keep getting stuck on everything, i think it's because im so tired

OpenStudy (pi123):

i like praise you because you did so many assignments in a row lol. why dont you take a nap and then come back to it? and also for module 5 what were the main assiggnments for it? that way i could remember and help you do the one your stuck on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the thing is i can get on my email since im grounded so i cant confirm it to keep this account so idk if it will still be here when i get up :/

OpenStudy (pi123):

well depending on how long you have had the account it should still be there. if you only had it for like a day i think it should still be up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true, and is this what your talking about? 05.01 What is an Argument Quiz 05.02 Developing a Strong Argument Quiz 05.03A Analyzing an Argument 05.03B Analyzing an Argument 05.04 Gathering Evidence Quiz 05.05 Citing Your Sources Quiz 05.06 Increasing Awareness 05.07 Stating Your Claim 05.09 Writing Your Argument 05.10 A Powerful Product 05.11 Present Your Argument 05.12 Discussion-Based Assessment 05.13 The Right Word Quiz

OpenStudy (pi123):

yes that! now in those lessons for the argument you have to write which two options does it give you? because you supposed to choose.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm i got http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/educator_e1cr_v14/unit05/journey/05_10b_02a.htm http://breeze.flvs.net:9090/p95644901/ Assessment Instructions You are almost ready to present your argument to the special committee. The only thing left to do is revise and edit your argument. Use the revision and editing checklists from this lesson as you proofread your argument. As you work, keep track of the changes you make. Afterward, write a one-paragraph reflection on your revision process. Some reflection questions to consider: What steps did you follow to revise and edit your argument? Who did you consult for help in the process? What type of errors did you correct more than others? Spelling? Punctuation? Sentence Structure? What makes your final argument better than your first draft?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh and

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i think that was all wrong

OpenStudy (pi123):

yes this im almost positive of its the module where you choose between the sports debate or the certain books being banned debate. i did the certain books being banned debate. go back to the begining of your module to read which options it gives you. then once you choose ill help you from there. this assignment wasent that bad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Previously, you created an outline to shape your argument according to one of three organizational patterns. Now is your opportunity to turn that list of points into a logical, persuasive, engaging argument that will sway the city council to accept your claim. Using your outline as a guide, write a first draft of the body of your speech.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i thinking its slowly making sense sorry, what was the sports thing do you remember?

OpenStudy (pi123):

yes its about whether or not college students should be paid to play sports in college like football or basketball for example. and the second option was whether or not certain books should be banned completely or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i remember coming across that but i cant remember what i picked hold on

OpenStudy (pi123):

alrighty :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh is that when i had to do the whole claim thing?

OpenStudy (pi123):

yeah i think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk why it's red but this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry it sucks i was kinda rushing it

OpenStudy (pi123):

yes thats it!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay!

OpenStudy (pi123):

and i think its fine :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so what do i do now?

OpenStudy (pi123):

yeah you have a good argument

OpenStudy (pi123):

well now which assignment are you on? so that i know what you have to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you, and 05.09

OpenStudy (pi123):

did you already submit your full argument?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm i dont think so, i think i skipped it :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For section 5 this is all i have left to do 05.03B Analyzing an Argument 05.09 Writing Your Argument 05.11 Present Your Argument

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's all about the same thing

OpenStudy (pi123):

yeah when i did it i found that a bit annoying. well for both 5.09, and 5.03b there should be templates in the lesson that way all you would have to do is fillout the page, and then for 5.11 you just submit your final draft for the argument :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, what about this, do you remember this at all?

OpenStudy (pi123):

oh yes i remember this, i struggled with this one at first but then i got it.

OpenStudy (pi123):

what part of it do you have trouble with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you still have it?

OpenStudy (pi123):

let me check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty, thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was for 06.09

OpenStudy (pi123):

i dont have it anymore but i can still help you with it i remember calypso borealis and the other one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dang :/ alrighty

OpenStudy (pi123):

do you have the introduction ready?or have you not done it yet? for this you are copying and pasting that and making alot of quotations for your body paragraphs explaining what each author means in their story/poem. its a real drag i know but ill help you thru the work best i can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this it? John Muir and William Wordsworth were two lonely human beings. They both loved nature and to connect to nature, but they were depressed. Nature was what brought them happiness, and took away their depressive state.John and William talked about how nature is beautiful, and included vivid imagery to describe how the beauty of nature helped to change their mindset during their journey.

OpenStudy (pi123):

thats a good intro! copy and paste that to the page you sent me right were says to put it

OpenStudy (pi123):

under number 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay done

OpenStudy (pi123):

good! alright now you write your body paragraphs. and they have to include the following:• a direct quotation introduced with a complete sentence and a colon • a direct quotation introduced with a signaling phrase and a comma • a direct quotation that is introduced and explained in one sentence • a paraphrased example • an embedded quotation which may seem like alot i know but you are basically just restating your opinion from your intro paragraph into your body paragraphs. except now your going to put quotes in your body paragraphs and explain what each of them mean. remember that you have to compare how both authors styles and diction (word choice and such) were different or/and similar

OpenStudy (pi123):

for example one author (the one where its a story) was on a journey in search of the flower and then found it right when he was about to give up and finding the flower transformed him. and then there is the one who wrote the poem was not expecting to find the bed of daffodils that he had found but when he did it transformed him also. nature transformed their outlooks in the most positive of ways. thats a good comparison. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh Okay i sorta get it

OpenStudy (pi123):

its good that your starting to get it :) what are you still confused with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too and the a direct quotation that is introduced and explained in one sentence ....I think ima take a nap and wake up in like an hour or two is that okay?

OpenStudy (pi123):

thats fine ill still be here :) and while your napping ill send you an explanation for your question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahh thank you so much!(: i owe you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your the best!

OpenStudy (pi123):

its no biggie really! i just remember how i had to do all of it on my own when i did it i had 5 different classes and no one to help me. it was all on flvs. so i understand you alot! now go get some rest! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow im so sorry :( that had to of sucked! and especially when i only have 20 hours to finish everything :/ it's alot of stress but thank you! really thank you

OpenStudy (pi123):

its no problem :) wow you have done quite an exceptional job for someone who has to get it done in 20 hours!!! now go sleep! oh and a direct quotation is the most common one. like this "now go sleep", said pi 123 because she knew student_1234 had, had a particularly long day. just for example. you have to explain its mean in the same sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awe thank you! and i have a question, what does this mean? Part Two Read the responses offered by one of your classmates and post a thoughtful reply.
