a body is projected upwards. if air resistance is considerable, time of ascent is greater than time of descent.. but what i am thinking in upward motion opposing force is {mg+f+drag force}, in down ward force opposing force is mg-{f+drag force}. even though these forces continuously change. so according to opposing force time of ascent is greater than time of descent.... plz clarify me with respect to opposing force.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Time of descent is greater than time of ascent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u =0 then \[t = \sqrt{2X/a}\] so time will be greater in the case where a is smaller, that is force is smaller. Thus time of descent is greater than the time of ascent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TIME of descent will be greater than that of Ascent ....
