In a direct variation, y is negative eighteen when x is 9. What is y when x equals negative six?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so basically y=kx where k=constant, so first of all you have to find the constant -18 = 9k , so that means that k = -2 now substitute back into the formula with the new value of x and your k : y = -2 * -6 = 12

ooh. Thank you so much. @Purplerainbowcherry
