irrational solutions would be like the square root of 2 or something like it rational solutions would be like 5 or 2 , etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = x^2 +6x -16 = (x-2)(x+8) so x = 2 or x = -8 so that means that this equation has 2 real rational solutions, meaning that g(x) must be the equation having 2 real irrational solutions
