Which of the following is NOT a phase change? Condensation. Boiling. Sublimation. Radiation. @Abhisar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sublimation?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Do you know the meaning of phase ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Then how were you answering these questions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I remember somethings from my reading but not everything so i donot remember meanings

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Phase means state of matter like solid, gas and liquid are the three phases. E.g. Water is liquid phase, ice is solid phase and water vapor is gas phase.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i pick up on random things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right i know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

radiation is a form a chemical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i don't remember sublimation in my reading at all

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Now, `Condensation` is conversion of gas to liquid `Sublimation` is conversion of solids directly into gas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so radiation is my answer as it is would not be part of a phase

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Have you heard about dry ice ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (abhisar):

It's an example of sublimation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah

OpenStudy (abhisar):

and yes the answer to this question is radiation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see
