19. Do you know the formula for solving any quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

no

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

can you just help me solve number 20 i got 19

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Just out of interest, how did you solve 19 without using the formula for solving any quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

solomon helped me already

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

19 was b

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

is number 20 C ?

OpenStudy (oleg3321):

so

OpenStudy (kropot72):

If we add 2x to the length and also add 2x to the width we get: Total length = (4 + 2x) feet Total width = (3 + 2x) feet Assume the total area must equal 15 square feet. Then we can write: (4 + 2x)(3 + 2x) = 15 ...........(1) Now you need to multiply the two bracketed expressions on the left side of equation (1).
