A movie rental store sells a couples movie pack for six dollars and a family movie pack for ten dollars. In one year, the Nguyen family paid one hundred and twenty-six dollars for 13 movie packs. How many family movie packs did they pay for? 9 10 11 12

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Well... Heres how i figure how it is... So to see how many family movie packs they used lets look at the options... a family pack is 10$ so 9 x 10 = 90 then since you can have 4 more packs which have to be couples packs you get 24$. So 90 + 24 = 114 so tht doesnt work... After you do tha with all of the optons for the last one: 12 x 10 = 120 since weve used 12/13 packs we can still use 1 more which needs to be a couple pack that equals out to 126$ so D would be you answer
