The lengths of two sides of a right triangle are given. Find the length of the third side. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary. legs: 28 in. and 15 in. A. 37.5 in. B. 23.6 in. C. 29.6 in. D. 31.8 in.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well we are not sure here which legs they have provided..for example it could be |dw:1406564201314:dw| or |dw:1406564225725:dw| If we solve the 2nd triangle we would be an answer choice of D But if we solved the first it would be an answer choice of B....so we cannot be sure unless we know which legs were provided
