Rewrite the equation below into standard form. -4x=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4x = 8 Divide 4 by both sides -4 -4 The -4 cancel each other out on the left half of our equation. On the right side 8 / -4 = -2 x = -2

@thebossman ? Any q's?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! I think I get it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait! I have one more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats how to solve the equation, technically standard form is Ax +By = C , so in this case your equation would have to be rearranged into this form. Subtract 8 from both sides to achieve this form -4x= 8 - 8 -8 -4x - 8 = 0

Oh I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fire away! :D Sorry to simplify I solved it above and then "rewrote the equation into standard form"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is not a requirement of a standard form equation Ax+By=C A:\[A \ge0\] B:\[B \ge0\] C:A and B are not both 0 D:A, B, and C are integers with a greatest common factor of 1 @Nanalew since you said you will double check, can you tell me the answer to this?
