On the left side, we are witnessing an apprenticeship between two males. The apprentice is the person who learns a trade through another person, usually a master. And a master is the person who masters his/her craft, usually male, and operates a workshop and train apprentices. Before they only had the lower class and the upper class, there was no chance of a lower class member becoming an upper-class member but now there is a middle class, and they are being educated in how to work a trade.
