Using the trigonometric table attached to this activity, find the angle whose sine is closest to 0.31. (Hint: Check your answer with a calculator, if possible.)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well go to the table and find 0.31. the numbers will be decimals, normally to 4 decimal places... so find the one that is closed. look to the column on the very left to get the degrees for the row you are in, then look across the top for the column to show the minutes the angle will be degrees then minutes

@campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so go down the sin column and find 0.31, then go left to the degrees column to read off the angle in degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The closest one is .0000

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you need to find the sin of what angle is 0.31 so start in the sin column.... it starts from zero and gets larger... go down that column until you get as close as possible to 0.3100 then when you have that value... go left along the row to find the angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.3100 is closer to 02 degrees and sin .0349

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so you are saying 0.3100 is the same as 0.0349

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NOpe, due to the decimal.
