Which of the following would be shown in humanist art? Religious events and symbols Imaginary events and people Secular people and places Churches and their leaders

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ImaGuest can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would think b or c hbu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it was A. but im wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would go with c,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually I think it's B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since humanism is the glorification of human achievement, and they thought of the Romans as being the best civilization , so they would paint about them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting "The Mona Lisa"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The woman in the painting doesn't exist, she was imaginary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh true. thank you guys for your help :):):)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And Leonardo is known for his humanist work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is speculation that Mona Lisa was a real person though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Another example, that one picture showing a naked man, (not sure why he drew that) was an imaginary person though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sure its just a coincidence that they happen to look similar. But hey, I may be wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I do believe that Leonardo is humanist

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is humanist and the people in his paintings are real people sometimes so...

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

I agree with @ImaGuest. Artist such as Leonardo and Michelangelo drew and studied human anatomy and duplicated it in their work. Compare their art to other artists not following the humanism movement, and youll see that the other artists humans are disproportional. This is because true human anatomy would be considered sinful. Another example of something along these lines, is that as humanism became increasingly popular, humans in paintings would become the same size as saints in paintings, instead of significantly smaller. C) could be a rational answer, however, because there are occasional religious themes in some humanist work, and a large theme to humanism is actually "you can go to heaven and still enjoy your life" I would not consider it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright tell us what the right answer is when u get it

OpenStudy (toots):

I just tried B and got it wrong so DONT USE B!!!!
