If you already have a research question identified, what should you do to create a thesis statement?

From my own experience, it's incredibly difficult to simply come up with a thesis statement right after you craft your research question. After identifying a question, you must thoroughly conduct your research. As you do your research, you should slowly be able to develop an answer to your question. A condensed, narrow version of your answer to the research question should be your thesis statement.
