Describe the transformation to the graph of y=x^2 Picture is included
This is the graph of a parabola. X makes a U shape. Let me explain how each number in the new equation affects the original equation.
y = a (x+b)^2 - c A determines the stretching or compression of the graph, along with the orientation of the graph (Up or down) B determines how many units up or down the vertex of the graph move. C determines how many units the vertex travels left or right.
Since a is -1, the graph will be upside down, but will not be stretched or compressed.
Since B is 2, the graph will move up 2 units.
Since C is -3, the graph will move left 3 units. Keep in mind that c is the opposite of what you normally think (positive is right, negative is left) since the Framework of the equation is subtraction instead of addition.
Understand?
yes i do
Did you find the correct answer?
yes i got the answer c thank you very much
No. It's not c
Look at what I said earlier.
The answer is D.
