Why was West Germany accepted into NATO in 1955?

simply because they started to need the German troops to help in the battle in the cold war against the Warsaw pact
A little benefit with rearming the west German army was that the NATO could benefit from the experiences from some of the old soldiers from the WW2 who at that moment became leading officers in the new army of Germany
