PLease HELP!!!!! what is sec3pie/4?? what is csc 135 degrees??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so first part sec((3pi)/4) do you need a decimal or approximate value?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

here you go http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_circle#mediaviewer/File:Unit_circle_angles_color.svg sec = 1/cos csc = 1/sin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exact decimal value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ratio of sec(x) is equal to 1/cos(x) so you need to find cos(x) before you solve for it. Are you allowed to use a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but I thought sec was hyp/opp???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're thinking of the cosecant (csc) function. sec is hyp/adj.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

use the unit circle, look up cos(135) take reciprocal look up sin(135) take reciprocal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you
