So the cosine function is adj/hyp. just find the side adjacent to the angle and divide it by the hypotenuse.

So you were doing a cotangent function which is adjacent over opposite. The tan function is OPP/ADJ so to remember the basic trig functions you can use:
sin-SOH=OPP/HYP
cos-CAH=ADJ/HYP
tan-TOA=OPP/ADJ
so 4/3 is corrrect
