Which of the following describes the correct process for solving the equation 2x - 6 = 22 and arrives at the correct solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add the 6 to the other side and divide everything by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide both sides by -6 and then add 2. The solution is x = 8. Subtract 6 from both sides of the equation and then divide by 2. The solution is x = 7. Add 6 to both sides of the equation and then divide by 2. The solution is x = 14. Add 6 to both sides of the equation and then divide by 22. The solution is x = -14
