OpenStudy (anonymous):

circle please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (phi):

Do you know how many degrees to go all the way around the circle ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

360

OpenStudy (phi):

and in the arc, you go 45º what fraction of the whole way around is that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/8

OpenStudy (phi):

so the length of the arc is ⅛ of the circumference of the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you say that in centimeters

OpenStudy (phi):

they tell you all the way round is 64 cm ⅛ of 64 cm is 64/8 cm or 8 cm notice they say Do not include units in your answer. they want just the number

OpenStudy (phi):

the units do not change. it's just like ½ of 12 inches is 6 inches or ½ of 10 ounces is 5 ounces or ⅛ of 64 cm is 8 cm
