Pick a room in your house and complete the calculations that are required if a scale drawing were to be made of the room. 1. Make a list to identify each object in the room that will be scaled, such as doors, windows, walls, and furniture. A minimum of three objects is required. 2. Determine the scale factor you will use and include the units. 3. Complete a chart, like the one below, to organize your data. Show all calculations and include units. Be sure to specify your scale factor. Scale Factor: Description of Object Dimensions of Object Calculations Dimensions of Scaled Object Example: Couch 36 in by 72 in (assume scale factor is 1 in = .1 cm) 36 in = 1 in x = 3.6 cm x cm .1 cm 72 in = 1 in x = 7.2 cm x cm .1 cm 3.6 cm by 7.2 cm
