The volume of a cone that fits exactly inside a cylinder is 25 cubic feet. What is the volume of the cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 cubic feet 12.5 cubic feet 75 cubic feet 625 cubic feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st can you help me with this one please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's 75 cubic ft @campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... to the volume of a cylinder is \[V= \pi r^2 h\] volume of a cone is \[V = \frac{1}{3} \pi r^2 h\] so for the same measurements, the cone is 1/3 the volume... so if you know the volume of the cone, multiply the volume by 3 to get the cylinder.

well done.... that's a great answer
