The two triangles below are similar. What is the similarity ratio of ΔABC to ΔDEF? (4 points) Question 5 options: 1) 4:2 2) 2:4 3) 2:5 4) 5:2

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The order of the letters shows how the points at the corners match up. That lets you find what sides are similar. The ratio of any two sides will be the ratio of the triangles.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Also, when you say the "ratio of a to b" it means a:b or \(\dfrac{a}{b}\). So the order is set by the fact that they say ΔABC to ΔDEF. The side of ABC will come first, then the colon, then the simlar side of DEF.

A? @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, cause that is the ratios of the related sides. You might also see it simplified as 2:1. but in this case they gave the raw form from the triangles.
