PLEASEE HELP EXPLAIN TO ME! Awarding Medals How can a trigonometric function be chosen to model periodic phenomena with specified amplitude, frequency, and midline?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @Joyobro

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You will need specific measurements and check points. You will also need to understand ALL the components of the general form: \(y(t) = a\sin(b(t-c))+d\) All of a, b, c, and d have significance. It is very important to note the the argument of the sine funcion is "b(t-c)" and NOT "bt - c"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanksss, so how can i start the sentence off for the answer?? can u give me an idea @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Pick a periodic phenomenon.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are those? @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Tides? Violin Strings? Transient populations? Flourescent lights? Sound Waves? And on and on and on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sound waves @tkhunny
