can someone help me with this question? How can a function fitted to data be used to solve problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me @MaimiGirl @ManImStumped @genny7 @Gin_Ichimaru @ganeshie8 @LearningIsAwesome @trueseminole @leah723

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what class r u in? is this an essay prompt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MaimiGirl alg2 the lesson says trigonometry and question for homework assign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://math.gmu.edu/~eobrien/datafit/ take a look here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you, can you just help me start off the sentence a lil please @MaimiGirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah sure....i didn't mean to leave u alone with all that material...i just want u to have a good idea of the ques

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's okay, i scanned through it and thank you for considering to help me @MaimiGirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anytime....so now i suggest u to copy the 1st line and some lines from each subtopic..

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

maybe try something like below : function fitted to data can be used to predict how the variable represented by the function behaves in the future... for example : you can fit a function based on population from last 10 years and use the function to predict how the population grows in future... etc etc...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MaimiGirl this--->Given a two variable data set we are interested in writing a polynomial equation that relates one quantity, x to another, y. The equation can then be used for prediction purposes. That is, finding unknown values of y that correspond to values of x that we may be interested in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you, I'll restate your words into my own, I understand. thank you both @ganeshie8 @MaimiGirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there @ganeshie8 jst did it like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you I understand now @MaimiGirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome dear :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you can, can you help me with this last question; it's in same category with trigonometry. @MaimiGirl @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is it, let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MaimiGirl How can a trigonometric function be chosen to model periodic phenomena with specified amplitude, frequency, and midline?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm blank srry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's okay thanks for all your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@YanaSidlinskiy

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

I'm here. what do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks yana, the question is How can a trigonometric function be chosen to model periodic phenomena with specified amplitude, frequency, and midline?

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

I'm going to message you some linke. I'm not sure if they'll help you or no.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Still, I'll go with what ganeshie8 has said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 didnt answer How can a trigonometric function be chosen to model periodic phenomena with specified amplitude, frequency, and midline?
