How do I put something into slope intercept form

OpenStudy (aaronq):

You need to put it in the form: y=mx+b What information do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I know all I have is the points(2, -5) and (-1,0) @aaronq I know I jave to put it in y2 - y1 ------ x2 - x1 but idk what y2 and y1 and x2 and x1 are

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

x1 is the x of the first coordinate x and x2 is the second one i think

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

\[\frac{ 0+5 }{ -1-2 }\]Its +5 because it was a double negative

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

sorry, (x2,y2),(x1,y1) are respectively (2,-5)and (-1,0) you can also take vice versa answer yields the same result both are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then it would become 5/-3?

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

(-5-0)/(2-(-1)) and (0-(-5))/(-1-2) both equals -5/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get it.???
