What are spindle fibers? What do they do?

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

Spindle fibers are formed in Interphase and they will connect to the opposite poles of the cell and attach to the chromosomes as well, during meiosis they will also push against each other to make the cell bigger so they are able to divide. :) Let me know if that helps.
