Assume f(x) = 2x + 8 and g(x) = 5. What is the value of (g o f)(3) which order do I do this in? Do I put in 5 for f(x)?

OpenStudy (agreene):

so, (g o f)(x) is the same as g(f(x)) looking at g(x) it has no variation, and thus is a line at 5. so, \[g(x)=5 \space \space \space:\forall x\]

OpenStudy (agreene):

\[g(f(x))=5 \space \space \space:\forall x\] is what I meant.

OpenStudy (agreene):

basically, since you dont have an x to plug f(x) into for g(x), it doesnt matter what value for x you select the answer will be 5.
