simplify: sinθcosθ / tanθ

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

cos^2 (Theta)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well \[\large \frac{sin(x)cos(x)}{tan(x)}\] we know tan = sin/cos so \[\large \frac{sin(x)cos(x)}{\frac{sin(x)}{cos(x)}}\] Flip and multiply \[\large \cancel{sin(x)}cos(x) \times \frac{cos(x)}{\cancel{sin(x)}}\] \[\large cos(x) \times cos(x) = cos^2(x)\]

thank you both!!!!!
