I need help with a parabola. Please help me out.
I need to come up with an equation, but im stuck
Did you learn the conics formulas?
No, parabolas y= a(x-h)^2 + k
ohh yes I know that one
like on here, first section https://www20.csueastbay.edu/library/scaa/files/pdf/Conics.pdf
the h would be 0 and the k 57 right?
yes, so you plug it in y= a(x-0)^2 + 57 Now all you need to do is find a. Pick a point that that graph that is not the vertex? then let's cont
33,0
ok plug 0 in for y plug 33 in for x 0= a(33-0)^2 + 57 0= a (33)^2 + 57 0=1089a +57 a= -57/1089 a= -19/363 = -0.0523
so my final equation would be y=-0.0523(x-0)^2+57
now get it all together and we have the equation y= -0.0623x^2 + 57
yeah and x-0 is just x
ohh okay that was simple
thanks a lot
you're welcomed buddy :)
ok tell me where it's confusing.
lemme know so I can help you :) it's ok
@study100 I figured it out i just mixed up the numbers thanks though
